Did You Know? - Shift happens!

Thanks to Lisa of SAP, Brad blogged about this great, thought provoking presentation form Karl Fisch – the Director of Technology at Arapahoe High School.  Some snippets from the presentation:

    • As of August 2006, there are over 100 million registered users of MySpace.
    • The average MySpace page is visited 30 times a day.
    • There are over 2.7 billion searches performed on Google each month.
    • The number of text messages sent and received every day exceeds the population of the planet.
    • More than 3,000 new books are published every day.
    • It’s estimated that a week’s worth of New York Times contains more information than a person was likely to come across in a lifetime in the 18th century.

Whether you're in business, education, or something else - it's worth sitting through all 8 minutes of the slides to get the real message, and going to read Karl's original post.  Most good PowerPoint presentations would need the speaker's notes or a commentary to make it worthwhile.  This one just has thought provoking content on each page.  It's also good to be introduced to a school that is at the forefront of using technology and social software.
