Lewis PR blogger Jon Silk tagged several of my blogging favourites, including Dennis who tagged me and some of our blogging circle. This particular Five Alive thing is nothing to do with juice, but is part of that blogosphere meme where you are asked to respond with your five favourite somethings, and you tag 5 friends to do the same. This one is asking for the five blogging tools you can’t do without. Here’s mine:
- Wordpress is the best blogging platform, probably used by at least a third of the serious blogging community. You might start with Blogger, or even TypePad, but you’ll soon out grow them. Wordpress is a powerful platform, with a large community of developers and people adding plug-ins and themes.
- Qumana is the editor I use for writing posts. It’s much easier to use than the editor in WP, makes it easy to add your Technorati tags, and allows you to write a post which you publish to several blogs.
- Technorati is inconsistent, but still the most useful for blog tracking, searching and surfing.
- CrispyNews is a network of community news sites where the visitors choose the news stories that interest them most. I’m another one who uses and contributes to the Enterprise Irregulars.
- StatCounter - where would we be without worrying over traffic!
That’s my contribution. So now, who should I tag? How about JP Rangaswami, John Clough, Manoj Ranaweera, Jon Husband and Ismael Ghalimi?
