BT Tradespace - a new web presence option for the SME/SMB

by @ 15:39 on February 8, 2007.

Last week I was explaining about two initiatives from BT - their Marketplace for Saas applications, and Workspace collaboration solution.  They’ve just announce a third - BT Tradespace, and it’s free during their beta period.  Their site says:
“Lots of businesses want to take their trade and marketing online and it’s a challenge to recreate the warmth of real-life dealings in cyberspace. That’s why we’ve launched BT Tradespace, an online community (which is currently free to join during the beta period) that acts as a virtual high street where buyers and sellers can interact and people can rate and review each other.”
You actually get a web presence with some configuration options to which you can add content, logo, links to other sites, photographs, podcasts, and blog entries.  For a small business this could provide a very useful site, with very little effort and no technical expertise required.  BT are clearly making a big push to provide this sort of infrastructure in the SME market.
